23After returning the Deku Princess to her father, the Deku Butler will be waiting for you in the Deku Shrine. When you talk to him he'll say the Deku have something for you. He will then lead you to it, but in a way that seems more like a race because you need to keep up with him. The route he takes is always the same.
Doing this with the Bunny Hood can be better, but it's not necessary. It's better to use the Deku Mask at the parts where there is water so you can just hop on it with little risk of falling in. Make sure you're not wearing the Deku Mask when you reach the room with the fire though, because if you touch the fire as Deku Link you will lose and be sent back to the Deku Shrine’s entrance.
