How to Get the White Sword - The Legend of Zelda First Quest 100% Walkthrough
90The White Sword's location is the same for both the First & Second Quests. The White Sword is the 2nd strongest sword in the game & does twice the damage of the normal, wooden sword that you get at the beginning.
In order to qualify for the White Sword, Link's maximum health must be at least 5 before the Old Man will let you take the sword. You can increase Link's health by grabbing the Heart Containers dropped by bosses or by finding the ones hidden throughout Hyrule.
To get to the sword from the starting screen go right 1 screen, up 5 screens, left 1 screen, up 1 screen, & right 3 screens. At this point you should see a waterfall & a long staircase leading up. Take the stairs up & you'll find a Lynel, a lake, & a cave. Make your way into the cave & take the sword.
Normally you'd get this sword after beating a couple dungeons & increasing your health that way, but it is possible to get this before starting the 1st dungeon (First Quest) or after the 1st dungeon (Second Quest) if you find a couple Heart Containers around Hyrule.
