Level 4 Simple Walkthrough (First Quest) - The Legend of Zelda First Quest 100% Walkthrough
12This is the 4th dungeon of the First Quest. This video shows only what is necessary to beat the dungeon while also getting all important items. To see a complete walkthrough of this level where I go into every room & grab everything there is to get then see the video linked down below.
As with all dungeons in this game it's not a bad idea to have a potion on hand. Furthermore, if you have not already done so, I recommend that you upgrade your sword & tunic as I have. You can find videos showing the locations to these upgrades as well as the locations of all Bomb & Potion Shops linked down below.
The Blue Candle isn't necessary for this dungeon, but as it lights up the dark rooms it can be useful. If you haven't already gotten it then it's not really a big deal. I only used it for the sake of the walkthrough. In any case if you'd like to get it before trying out this dungeon then you can see where you can get it in the video linked down below.
Goodies in this dungeon:
Stepladder (1:08): In the center of the dungeon is a room filled with several blue Vire. Kill all of them to unlock the door on the right. Go through & kill all of the enemies in this room except for the Bubbles (which can't be killed) then push the left block in any direction to reveal a hidden staircase. Go down it & grab the Stepladder. The Stepladder allows you to cross over narrow gaps of water and lava.
Boss - Gleeok (2:57): The energy balls shot by Gleeok can't be blocked so the only thing you can do is dodge them. To hurt Gleeok you must hit its heads with your sword. The amount of times you have to hit each head depends on which sword you have. If you have the regular Wooden Sword then you need to hit the first head 10 times & the second head 6 times to kill him. If you have the White Sword like me then you only have to hit them 5 & 3 times respectively.
After hitting the 1st head enough times it will detach & fly around the room shooting energy balls at you. The severed head CANNOT be damaged or destroyed so your only choice is to avoid it & its attacks.
