How to Import Contacts to Motorola Phone from Google Account Sync The Best Method: Automatic Google Contacts Sync
Your contacts will automatically import once you sign into your Google Account and ensure the sync setting is enabled.
Step 1: Check Your Google Account is Added
During the initial phone setup, you will be prompted to add your Google Account. If your phone is already set up, check or add the account:
Go to Settings (swipe down from the top and tap the gear icon ⊛).
Scroll down and tap Passwords & accounts or Users & accounts.
Look for your Google Account (your Gmail address).
If it's not listed, tap Add account, select Google, and sign in.
Step 2: Ensure Contacts Sync is On
Once your Google Account is on the phone, check the sync status:
In the Passwords & accounts or Users & accounts list, tap on your Google Account (your Gmail address).
Tap Account sync (or Sync account).
Look for Contacts in the list and make sure the toggle switch is turned ON (blue/green).
Step 3: Manually Force a Sync (If needed)
If the contacts don't appear immediately, you can force the sync to run:
On the Account sync screen (from Step 2), tap the three-dot menu ⋮ (or a similar menu icon) usually located in the top-right corner.
Tap Sync now or Force sync.
Your Motorola phone will now connect to the Google cloud and download all the contacts associated with that Google Account. They will appear in your Contacts app shortly.
