The best and most secure way to lock your photos in a safe folder on a Motorola Android phone is by using the Safe folder feature within the Files by Google app or, if available on your model, the dedicated Moto Secure app.

Since Motorola phones run on a very clean version of Android, the most universal and reliable method is using the native Google solution.

Here are both methods:

Method 1: Files by Google - Safe Folder (Most Common Method)
Most modern Motorola phones come with the Files by Google app pre-installed, which includes a secure, PIN/Pattern-protected folder for any type of file, including photos and videos.

Step 1: Set Up the Safe Folder
Open the Files by Google app on your phone.

Scroll down to the Collections section.

Tap on Safe folder.

You will be prompted to set up a lock. Choose either a PIN or a Pattern.


Important: Write down and remember this PIN or Pattern. If you forget it, there is no way to recover the files inside the Safe folder.

Enter your chosen lock and confirm it. Tap Got it to finish the setup.


Step 2: Move Photos to the Safe Folder
In the Files by Google app, navigate to the photos you want to lock (e.g., tap on Images under the "Categories" section).

Long-press on the photo or video you want to move.

To select multiple photos, tap the circle that appears next to each file after selecting the first one.

Once selected, tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.

Tap Move to Safe folder.

You will be prompted to enter the PIN or Pattern you set in Step 1.

Authenticate, and the files will immediately disappear from the main gallery/files app and be moved to the locked folder.

To view your locked photos: Open the Files by Google app, tap Safe folder, and enter your lock code.
