About this video: This video is our complete guide on how to make a modded Minecraft server in 1.13.2. This will allow you to play modded Minecraft with your friends. We do this by creating a Forge server for 1.13.2. Forge is a #MinecraftMod loader that all of the popular mods use to run.
From JustEnoughItems to Tinker's Construct to GalaticCraft, they all use Minecraft Forge to run in 1.13.2. You will need to learn how to get a Forge server in Minecraft 1.13.2 to play them with your friends! Thus, let's go ahead and get started!
The first thing you will need to do in order to make a modded Minecraft server is download Forge. You can find the Forge download link in the description above. Make sure that you download Forge for 1.13.2. After you have Forge downloaded, you will need to confirm that you have the Java SDK. You can find the JDK linked above. Once you have that downloaded, we can install the files for our Forge server.
Getting Forge installed is easy. Just right-click on the Forge 1.13.2 file you downloaded, select 'open with', and then select 'Java TM Platform SE Binary'. The Forge installer will open. First off, select 'install client' and click okay. Forge will now install locally. You need to install Forge locally to play on a Forge server.
After Forge installing Forge locally, you need to install the Forge server files. You can do this by open Forge again with Java TM Platform SE Binary. This time though, we need to click 'install server'. You will then need to create a new folder on your desktop and click the three dots at the bottom of the Forge installer to change your installation directory to this new folder. Once you have done that, you just click 'okay'. Now, the Forge server will install!
After the Forge server is done installing, you need to open the folder you installed the files to. In this folder, create a new text document, and in that new text document paste the code from the description above. Then change the 'forgeserver.jar' to the name of your forge.jar file in your server's directory. Then, click 'file' and 'save as'. Save this file and a 'run.bat' file and be sure to change 'save type' to 'all files'. Once you have done this, click save and double click on the 'run.bat' file you just created.
The server will start and then stop. This is because you need to agree to the #Minecraft EULA. To do this, open the 'EULA.txt' file and change 'eula=false' to 'eula=true'. Save that file and then click the on the 'run.bat' file again. At this point, the server will start up. You can now join the server using your IPv4 address.
However, if you want to your friends to be able to join your modded Minecraft 1.13.2 server, you need to port forward. I go over exactly how to port forward for a #MinecraftServer in the video. Just be sure to forward the port '25565'. Once you have port forwarded, go to the 'what's my IP' link in the description above, get your IP address, and type that into Minecraft. Just make sure you are playing the Forge version of Minecraft. After that, you are done!
Congratulations, you now know how to make a modded Minecraft server in 1.13.2. If you have any questions, please let us know in the comment section down below, and I hope you enjoy your brand new 1.13.2 Forge server.
