In this video robin from rbn hardware review o-ring dampeners – is it something you should consider if you're looking for ways to make your keyboard soundless? Key dampeners are a cheap and a budget-friendly way to make each keystroke more silent.

By adding the rubber o-ring to the keycap, when pressing the key, the o ring prents the key from bottoming out, creating an irritating ringing sound that can be quite loud. This can also make clicky switches such as the cherry mx blue, less clicky and a bit more silent.

These dampeners work for pretty much every cherry MX key switch, including kalih mechanical switches as well, such as speed silver, and cherry mx blue, cherry mx red, cherry mx brown etc.
In this video, we also do a sound test to compare how these dampeners sound in action, with and without key dampeners to get a better sense of how they actually sound. We test both these dampeners with both cherry mx blue and cherry mx red, on the ducky one 2 mini rgb keyboards.
