About this video:
In this video robin from rbn talks about the latest rumor or leak regarding upcoming nvidia geforce gtx 1660 and 1660 ti graphics card, also known as: GeForce GTX 16
We talk pricing, performance, benchmark and release date. What price can we expect and will nvidia be launching more video cards in this new 16 series (gtx 1600 series) lineup such as 1650, 1650 ti, 1670, 1680? Review on the GTX 1660 Ti should be expected as soon as these new cards releases! Im going to follow up this video as soon as we know more, and I will be testing these new cards when they reach public release. Release date: February 14th or February 15th 2019 starting at $229 USD MSRP for GTX 1660 6GB and $279 USD MSRP for GTX 1660 Ti.
According to videocardz.com:
“The GTX 1660 Ti, featuring 1536 CUDA cores is expected to launch on February 15th for around 279 USD. A cheaper variant featuring GDDR5 memory instead of GDDR6 and fewer cores (1280) called GTX 1660 non-Ti will launch in early March. This SKU is expected to cost 229 USD
The new series would still feature Turing GPUs, but their different variants. It is said that GeForce RTX 2060 will feature TU106-200 GPU, while the GeForce GTX 1660 would feature TU116 instead.
The GeForce GTX 1660 Ti marketing material posted by Expreview mentions ‘Turing Shaders’, instead of ‘Ray Tracing’, which should remain exclusive to RTX series.”
Nvidia 20 series:
In August 2018, Nvidia announced the GeForce successor to Pascal. The new microarchitecture name was revealed as "Turing" at the Siggraph 2018 conference. This new GPU microarchitecture is aimed to accelerate the real-time ray tracing support and AI Inferencing. It features a new Ray Tracing unit (RT Core) which can dedicate processors to the ray tracing in hardware. It supports the DXR extension in Microsoft DirectX 12.
Nvidia claims the new architecture is up to 25 times faster than Pascal. A whole new Tensor core design since Volta introduces AI deep learning acceleration, which allows the utilization of DLSS (Deep learning super-sampling), a new form of anti-aliasing that uses AI to provide crisper imagery with less performance impacts. It also changes its integer execution unit which can execute in parallel with the floating point data path. A new unified cache architecture which doubles its bandwidth compared with previous generations was also announced.
The new GPUs were revealed as the Quadro RTX 8000, Quadro RTX 6000 and Quadro RTX 5000. The high end Quadro RTX 8000 features 4,608 CUDA cores and 576 Tensor cores with 48GB of VRAM. Nvidia expects the Turing-based Quadro GPU to be released on Q4 2018. Later during the Gamescom press conference, NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Huang, unveiled the new GeForce RTX series with RTX 2070, 2080, and 2080 Ti that will use the Turing architecture. The first Turing cards were slated to ship to consumers on September 20th, 2018.
