How to PAUSE Games Downloads on PS5 Settings (Reduce LAG)
0To pause downloads on your PS5 and reduce lag while playing games, use the Control Center. This is the quickest and most efficient method.
Press the PlayStation button (the button with the PS logo in the center of your controller) once. This will bring up the Control Center at the bottom of the screen.
Navigate to the Downloads/Uploads icon. It looks like a downward-pointing arrow.
Select the icon with the X button. A menu will pop up showing all your current and pending downloads and uploads.
Highlight the specific game or update you want to pause and press X. A new menu will appear with the option to Pause.
To pause all downloads at once, you can press the Options button on your controller while on the Downloads/Uploads screen, and then select "Pause All".
Pausing downloads is a great way to improve your online gaming experience, as it frees up your network's bandwidth, which is often the cause of lag. You can resume the downloads later, either manually or by putting the console into Rest Mode with "Stay Connected to the Internet" enabled.
