How to TRIM your PS5 Video Clips to Make them SHORTER (Best Method)
1Trimming your video clips on the PS5 is a great way to cut out unnecessary footage and get right to the good parts before you share them. The best method is to use the built-in editing tools in the Media Gallery.
The Best Method: Using the Built-In Trim Editor
Press the PlayStation button to open the Control Center.
Navigate to the Media Gallery icon (it's the one that looks like a photo album or a stack of pictures).
Find and select the video clip you want to edit.
Once the video clip is playing in full-screen, press the Options button on your controller.
A menu will appear on the right side of the screen. Select "Trim".
The editing interface will now appear. Use the L1 and R1 buttons on your controller to move the trim markers to the beginning and end points of the section you want to keep.
As you move the markers, the video will automatically play a preview of the trimmed section. You can also use the D-pad or left joystick for more precise frame-by-frame adjustments.
Once you have your trim points set, select "Save". You will be given two options:
Overwrite Original: This will replace the original, longer video clip with your new, trimmed version.
Save as New Video: This will save the trimmed clip as a new file and keep your original, longer video clip intact.
