How to Perform a POWER RESET on TV to FIX Black Screens & Settings (Best Method)
A power reset (also known as a power cycle or cold boot) is a simple and effective troubleshooting step for many common TV problems. It helps clear temporary glitches, fix unresponsive menus, resolve display or sound issues, and can often get a TV working again if it's stuck in a boot loop.
Unlike a factory reset, a power reset will not erase your settings, apps, or other personal data.
Here's how to power reset your TV:
Turn off the TV. Use your remote or the power button on the TV itself to turn it off.
Unplug the TV. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait. Wait at least 30 seconds to two minutes. This allows the TV's internal capacitors to fully discharge, which is the key to a true power reset. Some sources suggest holding down the power button on the TV (not the remote) for 10-30 seconds while it's unplugged to help drain any remaining power.
Plug the TV back in. Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
Turn on the TV. Press the power button on your remote or the TV itself.
This simple process can often resolve issues without having to perform a more drastic factory reset
