How to Remove Cover & Take Apart Xbox Series X|S Controller (Fast Tutorial)
2Here are the steps to remove the cover and take apart your Xbox Series X|S controller:
Flip the controller over and use a prying tool or a credit card to unclip the plastic tab protecting the USB-C port.
Remove the tabs holding down the shoulder buttons from the left and right. This can be tricky, so be careful not to break the tabs.
Once the tabs are open, take off the plastic cover.
Remove the side panels with a pry tool or a credit card.
Remove the four security torx screws with a T8 security torx screwdriver or a flathead screwdriver.
Remove the battery compartment and the sticker to access the fifth screw .
Remove the back cover and unplug the black wires from the PCB.
Remove the plastic shell, the d-pad, the sticks and the bumpers.
Remove the screws from the triggers and the rumble motors and free the wires from the clips.
Remove the screws from the first PCB and unplug it from the second PCB .
Remove the screws from the second PCB and the headphone jack.
Remove the rubber strip and the buttons.
To reassemble, reverse the steps and make sure the wires are routed properly and the parts are aligned correctly.
