To remove the cover and take apart your PS5 controller, you can follow these steps:

First, turn off your PS5 controller.
Use a flat tool to pry off the black cover section of the controller. Start prying at the ends of the handles and work your way toward the middle, then pull it up and off .

Remove the R1 and L1 buttons by popping them off with a screwdriver 2.
Remove the screws on the back of the controller and open it up 2.
Disconnect the battery and the microphone by pulling them off gently 2.
Disconnect the ribbon cables that connect the touchpad and the buttons to the motherboard.

Flip the motherboard back and remove more screws to separate it from the black cradle.
Remove the silicone button holders and the microphone ribbon cable from the faceplate.
Remove the screws and the button that hold the touchpad to the faceplate
