To reset a Roku remote without a pairing button, the process depends on whether it’s a simple infrared (IR) remote or a voice remote that lacks a visible pairing button. Here’s how to handle it:

For a Simple IR Remote (no pairing button, requires line-of-sight):
These remotes don’t pair with the Roku device over a wireless network, so there’s no true "reset" process. Instead, you troubleshoot and refresh it:
Remove the batteries from the remote.

Unplug your Roku device from power, wait 5-10 seconds, and plug it back in.

When the Roku home screen appears, reinsert the batteries.

Point the remote directly at the Roku device (ensuring no obstructions) and test it by pressing buttons like Home or OK.

If it still doesn’t work, replace the batteries with fresh ones, as weak power can cause issues. You can also check if the remote is sending signals by pointing it at a smartphone camera and pressing buttons—if you see a flashing light on the screen, the IR signal is working.

For a Voice Remote Without a Pairing Button (uses Wi-Fi, no button in battery compartment):

Some newer Roku voice remotes don’t have a pairing button but can still be reset and re-paired using a button combination:
Remove the batteries from the remote.

Unplug your Roku device from power, wait 5-10 seconds, and plug it back in.

When the Roku home screen appears, insert the batteries back into the remote.

Press and hold the Back and Home buttons together (these are near the top of the remote) for 5 seconds. The status light (usually near the bottom front) should start flashing, indicating it’s in pairing mode.

Wait up to 30 seconds for the Roku device to detect and pair with the remote—you’ll see a confirmation on the TV screen when it’s done.
If the light doesn’t flash or pairing fails, ensure the remote has fresh batteries and repeat the steps, holding the buttons a bit longer (up to 10 seconds).
