You can now send DMs to other users on the TikTok platform. However, this is only possible if you're following that particular user. Not only that but make sure your application is up to date with the latest features.
How To Send Private Messages On TikTok
Launch TikTok
Tap on Inbox at the bottom of the screen
Tap on the recipient of your message to open the chat
Type in the desired message you'd like to send
If you want to start a new conversation with someone, tap on the New Chat icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Choose the individual you'd like to send the message.
If you send a message to someone who you don't follow, that message will not be sent. Make sure you follow the person to initiate a conversation with them.
