How to Setup a LAN Connection on your PS5 Pro (Faster Downloads)
If you're experiencing locked games on your PS5 Pro (games that are showing as "locked" or inaccessible), here are several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Check Your PlayStation Plus Subscription (If Applicable)
Some games may require an active PlayStation Plus subscription for access to online multiplayer or certain content.
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Account - Subscriptions to verify if your subscription is active.
If your subscription has expired, you'll need to renew it to regain access to any locked content.
2. Restore Licenses
If you’re having trouble accessing digital games or content, restoring your licenses can help fix the issue.
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Other - Restore Licenses.
Follow the prompts to restore your licenses, which may solve the problem of locked games.
3. Ensure You’re Logged Into the Correct Account
Make sure you're logged into the account that purchased or has access to the games.
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Account and check the logged-in account information.
If needed, sign out and log back into the correct account.
4. Check for Content Sharing Settings
If you're using Console Sharing and Offline Play on a different PS5, ensure that the settings are correctly configured.
Go to Settings - Users and Accounts - Other - Console Sharing and Offline Play to verify if the feature is enabled on your PS5 Pro.
5. Check for Game License Issues
Sometimes, a game license can become invalid or corrupted.
If you purchased a game through a third-party or digital store (like the PlayStation Store), go to the Game Library and check if the game shows as "Purchased."
You can try redownloading the game by going to your Game Library - Purchased section and selecting the download option.
6. Reinstall the Game
If a game is locked or has become corrupted, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
Go to Settings - Storage - Games and Apps, select the game, and delete it.
Afterward, reinstall it by navigating to Game Library - Purchased or the PlayStation Store.
7. Verify If the Game Is Region-Locked
Some games are region-locked and may not be accessible in certain regions. Check the region settings on your account and compare them to the game’s region requirements.
If this is the case, you might need to change the region of your PSN account, but this can have other impacts, so proceed with caution.
8. Clear the Cache
Sometimes, a corrupted cache can cause access issues. To clear the cache:
Turn off the PS5 Pro completely (hold the power button for 7 seconds until it beeps).
Once off, hold the power button again until you hear a second beep.
This will boot the system into Safe Mode.
Select Clear Cache and Rebuild Database to refresh the system’s files.
9. Check for System Software Updates
An outdated system software could lead to various issues, including problems accessing games.
Go to Settings - System - System Software - System Software Update and Settings to check for any updates.
10. Check If the Game Requires Additional DLC or Updates
Some games require downloadable content (DLC) or updates to be fully accessible.
Go to the PlayStation Store or Game Library to check if there are any pending updates or required DLC for the game.
11. Factory Reset (Last Resort)
If all else fails, a factory reset may fix deep system issues. Before doing this, ensure you back up your data to the cloud or an external drive.
Go to Settings - System -- System Software - Reset Options - Reset Your Console and follow the prompts to perform a reset.
