To add four back button paddles to a PS5 controller using the Tomsin Remap Kit, you’ll need to follow several steps carefully to ensure everything is connected and installed correctly. This mod involves disassembling the controller and working with small, delicate parts, so make sure you have the tools, patience, and a steady hand to complete the installation.

What You’ll Need:
Tomsin Remap Kit with four back button paddles
Small Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers
Plastic pry tool (for safe opening of the controller)
Tweezers (optional, for handling small wires and parts)
Soldering iron (if soldering is required for your version of the kit)

Installation Steps:

1. Disassemble the PS5 Controller
Turn off the controller and remove any connected cables.
Remove the back cover by carefully using a plastic pry tool around the seams to avoid scratching the controller.
Unscrew the back screws (usually located under the L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons).
Lift the back shell off to expose the controller’s internals.

2. Prepare the Remap Kit Components
Open the Tomsin Remap Kit and organize the components, including the back button paddles, control board, and any included cables.

3. Attach the Control Board
Locate the appropriate placement for the control board. Typically, it will sit over the controller’s main board, with contact points aligning with specific buttons.

If your kit requires soldering, connect the necessary points as per the instructions. This may involve connecting the board’s contacts to the L1, R1, and other key button contacts.

4. Connect the Back Button Paddles
Attach the paddle board to the back shell where the paddles will rest. Some kits use adhesive or clips for attachment, while others may require small screws.

Connect the paddles to the control board using the included flex cables, making sure each connection is secure and aligns with the corresponding back button input.

5. Reassemble the Controller
Carefully put the back shell in place, ensuring the paddle board sits snugly and does not shift.

Screw the back cover back on and test to confirm that the paddles click naturally without sticking.

6. Testing and Calibration
Power on your controller and test the new paddles by mapping functions (like jump, crouch, etc.) to each back button to verify they work as intended.
