How to Setup and Use Twitch Channel Point Predictions
A prediction can be started two ways. The streamer can start a prediction using the stream manager page on Twitch. Alternatively the streamer or moderators can use the chat command “/prediction” to bring up the interface.
Twitch predictions are a great way to engage your viewers in the stream content. Predictions allow the streamer or moderator to propose a possible outcome. Viewers can then wager their channel points on an outcome prediction.
Once the outcome has been decided, viewers who predicted correctly will receive bonus channel points as a reward.
When creating a prediction you will need to enter a question and two outcomes. It is also required to set a timer for predictions.
Viewers can only make predictions in the set time period. This prevents viewers from being able to cast their vote after knowing the outcome.
The voting period can be ended at any time through the prediction interface. This will require you to reopen the menu via the stream manager or chat command.
The prediction menu will also need to be reopened to finalize the outcome results. Once a result has been confirmed Twitch will automatically reward the correct voters with channel points.
