How to Start LG TV with most recent HDMI input (Stop Home screen Starting)
To have your LG TV start up on the most recent HDMI input, follow these steps:
Open Settings
Press the Settings button on your LG remote to open the settings menu.
Navigate to All Settings
Select All Settings (or Advanced Settings) from the menu.
Go to General Settings
Scroll down and select General from the options.
Find HDMI-CEC Settings
Within the General settings, look for HDMI-CEC or Simplink (this is LG's term for HDMI-CEC). This feature allows the TV to automatically switch to the last active HDMI input.
Enable HDMI-CEC (Simplink)
Turn on Simplink (HDMI-CEC) if it’s not already enabled. This allows the TV to detect when a device on the HDMI input is turned on and switch to that input automatically.
Exit the Settings
Press Exit or Back to save the changes and return to the home screen.
Once HDMI-CEC is enabled, your LG TV should automatically switch to the most recent HDMI input when you turn on a connected device. If you have multiple devices connected, it will choose the most recently active HDMI port.
