How to Turn On or Off the Emergency Alerts on your Android Phone (Settings Tutorial)
Emergency alerts on Android phones are critical notifications that keep users informed about imminent threats, natural disasters, or other emergencies in their area. While they serve an essential purpose, some people might find them disturbing. If you wish to manage these alerts, here’s how you can turn them on or off:
How to Turn Off Emergency Alerts on Android
Open the Settings app: You can quickly access it by tapping its icon from the app list.
Navigate to Safety & Emergency: Look for this option within the Settings menu.
Select Wireless Emergency Alerts: If you don’t see it immediately, scroll down to find it.
Toggle the “Allow Alerts” switch: By default, it’s turned on. If you want to disable all emergency and government alerts on your Android smartphone, switch it off.
Customize Specific Alerts (Optional): If you prefer to receive some alerts but not others, leave the “Allow Alerts” on and turn off only the switches next to the specific alerts you don’t want to receive. These may include Extreme Threats, Severe Threats, Orange Alerts (recommended actions), or Test alerts.
Remember that the steps might vary slightly depending on your smartphone model and Android version. Adjust accordingly to your device settings
