How to Stop Fixing C Stage 1 in Windows 10/11
The "Fixing C Stage 1" message appears when Windows runs a disk check (chkdsk) during startup due to detected errors on the C drive. To stop this process, you can disable automatic disk checks. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type chkntfs /x C: to exclude the C drive from future checks. You can also stop the process by pressing any key when prompted during boot. However, if the disk has errors, it’s recommended to let the check complete to prevent data corruption.
