How to STOP your Screen DIMMING & TURN OFF on PS5 Settings (Best Method)
Screen dimming and turning off on a PS5 are usually caused by the console's power-saving features. The best and most direct method to stop this behavior is to adjust these settings.
The Best Method: Adjusting Power Saving Settings
From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon in the top-right corner).
Scroll down and select System.
In the System menu, select Power Saving.
You'll see a few options here. The key ones for this issue are:
Set Time Until PS5 Enters Rest Mode: This is the most important setting. The console automatically goes into rest mode after a period of inactivity. Select this option and change the time for both "While Playing Games" and "During Media Playback" to a longer duration or to "Don't Put in Rest Mode."
Set Time Until Screen Dims: This setting directly controls how long the screen stays on before it starts to dim. If you want to prevent dimming altogether, you can set this to "Don't Dim" or a very long duration.
By setting these options to "Don't Put in Rest Mode" and "Don't Dim," your PS5 will no longer automatically power down or dim the screen due to inactivity.
