Since the iPhone was introduced, the button combination to take a screenshot has always been the Power button and the Home button. That was the case, until the iPhone X. For the iPhone X, XS, XS Max, iPhone XR and other later model iPhones, the button combination to take a screenshot has changed. This video will show you how to take a screenshot on the iPhone X, iPhone XS and other newer model iPhones.

Step 1. Navigate to the screen where you want to take a screenshot on your iPhone X or later device. In this example, I'll navigate to a note in the Notes app that I want to take a screenshot of.

Step 2. Locate the Power button along the top of the right edge of your iPhone, and then locate the Volume Up button on the top part of the left edge of your iPhone. Press the "Power" and "Volume Up" buttons at the same time. Your iPhone screen will flash, and then a small preview of your screenshot will appear in the lower left corner of your screen.

Step 3. You can tap the preview of the screenshot to open it in markup mode, where you can draw on it. When you're finished in markup mode, you can tap "Done" and then "Save to Photos" to save your marked up screenshot. Alternatively, after taking a screenshot, you can simply swipe left on the preview image to save it to the Photos app.

Step 4. You can find your screenshot taken on your iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR, or later model iPhone by tapping to launch the Photos app. Your screenshot will be available in the section associated with the date your screenshot was captured.

Step 5. Tap the saved screenshot to view it.
