About this video: Taking photos in Minecraft is super easy. In many ways, it is much easier than most other games out there. However, Minecraft doesn’t show you how to take screenshots. You are just kind of expected to figure it out. So, this video is here to help you do that. We will be showing you how to take screenshots in Minecraft, and then, we will be talking about where to find Minecraft screenshots after you have taken them. We will even be showing you how to change your Minecraft screenshot button in order to make sure taking pictures in Minecraft is as easy as possible for you. So, here is how to take a screenshot in Minecraft!
Now, for most people, you will take a screenshot in Minecraft by pressing the F2 button on your keyboard. As long as you don’t have a laptop or a keyboard with no number pad, this will work, and you will have a notification in chat that a screenshot has in fact been taken. However, if a laptop or a keyboard with no number pad, you will need to press your FN key + F2 in order to take a screenshot. When you do, a screenshot notification should appear in your chat.
If this isn’t working for you however, no worries! You may have had your screenshot key changed at some point. To check this go into your Minecraft options menu and select controls. Then, scroll down the page until you see ‘screenshot’. You will see then see what you screenshot button is. You can also reset your screenshot button to go back to the default F2 button!
Now, we can see that the screenshots have been taken in chat, but where do we even find them? Well, this is where Mojang makes things a bit more difficult. You will need to hit the Windows key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact some time. This will open up the Run application. In the text box in this app, type ‘%appdata'%', and hit enter. Your roaming folder will open, and you'll see a '.minecraft' folder. Open that, and you'll see a 'screenshots' folder. When you open that folder, you will find all of the screenshots you have ever taken in Minecraft, and now, you know how to find screenshots in Minecraft!
