How to Start New Share Screen Session to Share Screen with Friends on PS5 (Best Method)
2The PS5 has a great built-in feature called "Share Screen" that allows you to stream your gameplay to a party of friends. This is different from "Share Play," which gives a friend control of your game. Share Screen is for a one-way viewing experience. The best method is to start it directly from a party.
The Best Method: Starting from a Party
Create or Join a Party: From the PS5 home screen, press the PlayStation button to open the Control Center. Navigate to the Game Base icon (it looks like two chat bubbles and a PS logo). Go to the "Parties" tab and either create a new party or join an existing one.
Start Share Screen: Once you are in the party voice chat, look for the Share Screen icon within the voice chat card. It looks like a small screen with a play symbol.
Select "Start Share Screen": Select the icon, and then choose "Start Share Screen" from the options that appear.
Invite Friends (if needed): If you created a new party, you will be prompted to invite your friends. Select the friends you want to share your screen with and send the invite.
Once you start the session, your friends in the party will receive a notification and can join to watch your gameplay. The "ON AIR" icon will appear next to your name in the party, so they know you are streaming.
