Step 1. Click "Settings" in the menu at the top of your Gmail account. The Quick Settings menu opens on the right side of the screen.
Step 2. Click "See All Settings."
Step 3. Make sure the "General" tab is selected. Scroll down this menu until you see Smart Features, and then click to remove the check mark from "Smart Features." A window pops up letting you know that to fully turn off Gmail smart features you'll need to reload Gmail. You'll also be notified that if you have unsaved changes to other settings, those changes will be lost.
Step 4. Click "Turn Off and Reload." Gmail will be reloaded and smart features will be turned off. As a result of turning off Gmail smart features, Google AI summaries will be turned off in Gmail as well.
