How to Turn Off the Background Music & Key Tones on PS4 Console
0To turn off the background music and key tones on your PS4 console, follow these steps:
Turn Off Background Music
From the PS4 home screen, go to Settings.
Scroll down and select Sound and Screen.
Choose Audio Output Settings.
Look for an option related to background music (this may depend on the context, like the dynamic menu music). Unfortunately, the PS4 doesn’t have a direct toggle for all background music in the system menu, but you can mute it indirectly:
Go back to Settings - Devices - Controllers.
Adjust the Volume Control (Speaker for Controller) to lower or mute the sound if it’s coming through the controller.
Alternatively, if it’s game-specific music, you’ll need to adjust that in the game’s own settings.
Note: The PS4’s dynamic menu music can’t be fully disabled without muting the system entirely, but you can reduce its impact by lowering the overall system volume (see below).
