How to Transfer Contacts From Android Phone to Android using Google Account
Syncing contacts between Android phones using a Google account is the fastest and most reliable method. Here’s a step-by-step guide to transfer your contacts seamlessly.
Sync Contacts on the Source Android
On your current Android phone, go to Settings - Accounts - select your Google account.
Ensure Contacts sync is enabled. If not, tap the account and toggle Contacts on, or tap Sync Now.
Alternatively, open the Contacts app, go to Settings - Sync, and confirm contacts are backed up to your Google account.
To verify, visit contacts.google.com on a browser to see your contacts.
Time: ~15-30 seconds if already synced.
Add Google Account to the New Android
On the new Android phone, go to Settings - Accounts - Add Account - Google.
Sign in with the same Google account used on the source phone.
Ensure Contacts sync is enabled (usually automatic). If not, go to Settings - Accounts - Google - toggle Contacts or tap Sync Now.
Time: ~20-30 seconds.
Check Contacts on the New Phone
Open the Contacts app on the new Android. Your contacts should appear within moments as they sync from Google’s cloud.
If contacts don’t show, go to Settings - Accounts - Google - Sync Now to refresh.
Time: ~10-15 seconds.
