Perhaps the hardest thing to truly master in the X-step is how to move your weight to your back foot in balance. Historically, people have overlooked how critical this is to maintaining posture and weight distribution, as well as to keeping the trajectory of the swing intact. Doing it even slightly wrong has huge negative consequences on both accuracy and power production.
In this video, I discuss this central problem, and demonstrate a simple solution. You just need to utilize gravity. Your brain already knows how to stride with your back foot, you just have to harness gravity to find the proper feel. Once you've done that, it's extremely easy to maintain balance as you push off your back instep into a solid plant. Thoughts and comments always welcome, thanks for watching!
