I went into this expecting not to like this. I got handed this key by the developers; I didn't request it myself. I always accept offered keys, even if I think I won't like what I'm given, since I want to see why the dev decided to give me a key. This didn't look like something I'd like.
Well, I was completely wrong. This is a really great game!
It's a bunch of contained puzzles all based around having two characters in two different but linked rooms, who move in opposite but also in sync. You have to keep both alive and get them both to the end of the room, ideally while also picking up the optional collectible in each puzzle.
There are a bunch of different enemies and traps in this game, and while most would be simple enough to deal with alone, it's the combination of two characters having to deal with their own threats that really make this a delightful puzzle game. I had to both have good timing and good critical thinking skills to solve these puzzles, especially when you realize you can push one character against some objects that will stop his movement, but not the movement of his counterpart, allowing you to desync the two characters by just a space or two to manage to get through some of the harder puzzles.
This is spacial awareness in video game form at its fineness, and it is truly very creative with every puzzle feeling unique with its composition of hazards and what it asks you to do.
I completed the base story in this video, but only with one of three playable characters. There is still an unlockable path, as well as lots of bonus levels on top of that, so there's a lot of content to enjoy here. This seems pretty reasonable for $10 USD if this is your jam!
