I'm bad at roguelikes! I'll get that out of the way. I tend to get impatient and not manage my movement turns wisely. You can definitely see some of that in my first runs here.
This is a really cool game though. I like traditional roguelikes now and then, these dungeon crawler-y things akin to Nethack. Your draw of luck can be pretty unfair sometimes, but there's always more to learn in these games. Xenomarine isn't anything too special mechanically from those other of its ilk, but the sci-fi alien-infestation setting adds a lot of uniqueness (and, indeed, some new mechanics here and there) to the formula. It's a nice take on the genre, one I haven't seen before outside of DoomRL.
For $10, this is a worthwhile pickup if you fancy a Nethack-like! There's already a good amount of polish and content here for a game in Alpha; it's quite impressive, and can only get better.
