Howler for an Hour Stream: Freaky Awesome

This is a game I want to like. The Binding of Isaac gameplay is quite nice, with enough twists to make it worth diving into I feel. The mutation mechanics I could see getting very interesting once you unlock more forms. And while the game plays a little less smoothly than Isaac, it still plays pretty well and has a lot of mechanical variety.
The problem is, the music - and to some degree, the SFX. I am not a fan of harsh, dubstep-style music but that's this game's focus. Originally it wasn't affecting me too much, but I slowly developed a worsening headache as I played. This wasn't helped by some of the sound effects being just as harsh and noisy (the mutation sounds, which you'll hear a lot, are some of the worst).
This game is really being ruined by its painful sound design, in my opinion. This isn't something I say often, either. I'd give it a 7.5/10 disregarding the sound; it gets more like a 4/10 because of the sound. Ouch, my head...
