i-20000 is a shoot 'em up developed in three weeks by a Japanese circle called Planet Marimo.

The central gimmick of the game is that enemies spawn beyond the edge of the screen, and you can use your sonar to locate them and use your torpedoes to destroy them before they enter the screen. The large enemies shoot very fast and scary bullets when they enter the screen, so doing so is usually a good idea. On the other hand, the bullet cancels you get when you destroy them on-screen can come in handy. If you miss with a torpedo, the enemies are alerted and approach you faster (though I didn't know this until after this run).

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this game. Despite its short development time, it's quite polished, with lovely pixel art and music, and boasting such features as replays, rebindable controls, and scaling factor for windowed mode, which often fail to appear in far more ambitious games. There's even an achievement system that presents your achievements in a cute little aquarium. I neglected to record that for the video, but maybe I should have...

The gameplay is solid too. The action is paced well, and the gimmick, though not super deep or revolutionary, holds up well in a game of this scale. The game is very short and gives a ton of lives so it's not difficult to clear, but it has multiple loops which ramps things up dramatically. I don't know how far it goes, as I have yet to get past the third loop.
