Well, here we are. I'm making good on the last stretch goal from our StackUp charity stream in May and playing Elden Ring. This game is very much Not My Bag, Baby (TM), but I'm keeping my word and seeing if I can learn to enjoy a Souls game like I did Darkest Dungeon and Alien: Isolation. Even if I don't finish this game like I did those others, it will certainly be a learning experience.

Most of this stream is me getting my head around Elden Ring's controls, combat, and quirks. We go through the tutorial cave before emerging into Limgrave and generally wandering the land, bothering the locals and scoring stealth kills where possible. For some reason -- perhaps a live-fire tutorial -- I make up my mind that I need to clear the entire Godrick soldier camp before progressing. This takes multiple tries and extended stretches of sneaking and stabbing, but finally the fancy knight with the lance falls (2:26:30). We also meet Boc, Yura, and Irina on our travels before closing out the stream by getting embarrassed by a Runebeast at the bottom of a cave (4:11:30). A learning experience all around.
