Wow, this sounds like a dystopian hellscape.

"I co-parent with ChatGPT. I love turning off my brain and letting AI help raise my child."

Ah yes. Let's just let the AI to do the parenting work for us, or so we thought with an article like this. In reality, the AI is not really doing the work for her. She still does most of the work. The AI is just giving her suggestions and advice. This whole thing is about as outrageous as if someone from the 2010s looked up articles or tutorials on how to raise children. I at least appreciate the effort from these people on trying to be better for their children.

And that's what this whole thing ultimately is. Granted, the mother used ChatGPT for things that sound pretty basic like shopping lists, meal plans, birthday plans, vacations, but at least they're harmless. I don't know what "revolutionize bedtime" means but here's what Copilot thinks it means.

"I used it to make me a better mom."

That's not necessarily a bad use case for AI. Using them to make yourself better or improve yourself on a particular set of skills like parenting is definitely going to be beneficial for both the kid and yourself. So, I see no issue with using AI this way.

"I never let it make decisions, but I always ask it for advice."

Again, this is also not a bad use case for AI chatbots. You're the one who still has to make the decisions. The AI is just going to give you advice the same way JARVIS gives advice to Tony. He's still the one who has to dunk on the big bad guys at the end of the day.

The tips that she gave are also not that bad at all. Be mindful of using it, personalize it so that it's specifically about you, seek actual professionals for real issues, and most importantly, use them for advice, but you still have to be on the wheels. The clickbait tweet makes it as if she's offloading her whole responsibilities to AI when in reality, the AI is more like an assistant to her primary role, giving her advices and making suggestions.

AI will continue to be used by many humans for the foreseeable future, and while a lot of people use AI for the dumbest and most hilarious of reasons, while people are being absolutely arrogant douche bags over them, it's nice to hear people using AI in a proper way that actually helps and enriches users. That being said, The Sims screaming and burning baby while the mom asking Grok for help is a very funny image.
