I was immediately worried, because things were different.
A Plague Tale Requiem trades the tightly structured stealth encounters that I had grown to love in Innocence for a more fluid, open ended approach.
You can now choose to fight or brute force your way past enemies if you don’t feel like being stealthy.
I was immediately resistant, feeling as if the game just wasn’t as focused.
But I shouldn't have been so quick to judge. Because once I adapted my playstyle, I started to truly appreciate the magnitude of this game.
From the environments to the story, Requiem is epic in every way, and a more action-oriented gameplay loop compliments the narrative perfectly.
The stakes have been raised, and it's reflected in how you play the game.
If you are even remotely interested in what you see here, I would highly encourage you to try this game.
I was skeptical at first, but it quickly won me over.
Just make sure to play the first game for context and to fully immerse yourself in the story.
