ICDR 5 [Little Inferno] - Public Service Announcement
In Little Inferno you burn things. And burning those things gives you money. Which you use to buy more things. To burn. Torch. Cinder. Repeat. Solid in all categories! This game has an interesting and surprisingly entertaining mechanic. It really feels like you're burning things in the fireplace! They also did an excellent job making things look like they are burning. The flames and the way things gradually blacken, crumble, and fall apart as they burn is very realistic. More importantly though is how the mechanic and aesthetics tell a story rather than relying entirely on interaction with the game's characters (although there is a little of that as well). I think you could interpret that story a number of ways, but the way it unfolds as you sit, eagerly burning everything you can get your hands on is very well done.
