I was so amazed when I was researching and stumbled upon this incredible song. I wanted to find a different vocal range to cover and this song served as a perfect muse to that. Originally performed by Donny Osmond, I knew I had to try my best to portray his unique take on the character's vocal structure of being perfectly balanced between his higher and lower voice registers. It took a lot of careful adjustments and quite a few retakes but I was very happy with how Li Shang’s voice turned out. I needed to match the emotionality of certain lines too, allowing viewers into the vulnerability of this seemingly invulnerable character.

The fact that this film is over 22 years old is shocking but also points to the phenomenal skill and ability of Disney Animation to craft a world that had been previously unexplored and set a new standard for representation. The challenge of this video was being able to produce military-like backing vocals, resounding in their synchronization while also making sure they meshed well together and were in tune with the main performance.

This video was a true passion project and took a lot of work and time to put together. I am truly blessed and in awe of the fact that I get to do what I love and am very happy with how this video turned out.
