Before you decide to avoid this video, I just want you all to know that this is purely a scene by a performer who is secure enough in his own identity to portray a woman that is a huge part of the man he is today.

I have shared this story with you all in a previous video, but prior to my introduction to Ellie, I was a misogynistic, intolerant young man who had no respect for anyone different than me. That all changed when I entered the world of The Last of Us. The series has challenged me as a person and shifted my ideals of what love really is. I cannot explain how much of my values and beliefs I owe to living through the experiences of this amazing woman.

This scene was originally performed by Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker with such mastery and passion. I found myself lost in the lives of these two amazing individuals and I don’t think there would a better scene to showcase my growth as an actor and more importantly, as a person to kick off Series 3.

This was a passion project if there ever was one. I owe so much to Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker, Neil Druckmann, and Naughty Dog Inc. for putting me on a path of leading with love and fighting for what I want.

This scene pushed me to my limits, particularly portraying Ellie. There are moments where I found myself completely lost in these characters and their undeniable love for each other. Taking on a female voice for the first time was incredibly challenging but I am so proud of how this video has turned out.
