Feels like it's been a minute, even though it's only been about four days. Anyway last time, we left the Natives' Village and trekked through Ankor Wat, a temple in the middle of the jungle.

At the very top, we met a spirit who told us to heal the petrified people in the village and gave us the Gorgon Flower. After doing so, Kara suggested we travel to the nearby city of Dao. Let's go do that, then.

CHAPTER 14 - DAO & GREAT PYRAMID

So we have 41 out of the 50 Red Jewels scattered throughout the game. In this video, we're going to collect 8 out of the remaining 9. So make sure not to miss any, including right here in Dao.

You can collect Red Jewels #42 and 43 by playing a mini-game found in town. It's kind of a spin-off on whack-a-mole, whack-a-snake. There are three jars. If you stand in the center, you should be able to hit the middle and side jars at the same time. This should allow you to win the game easily.

Additionally, on the east side of town you'll see two Kruks standing near some water. Check on the grass north of the northern Kruk to find Red Jewel #44.

When you start off in Dao, you'll be in a small one room place. Right outside, you'll see a dude standing. Talk to him, he'll ask if you're Will. You'll get your Dad's Journal and a letter from your Grandma. In the place next door, you'll run into Neil, who will tell you about the Great Pyramid.

When you feel ready to proceed, leave town and head for the Pyramid. Enter the Dark Space portal you gain access to after killing the two monsters here. Gaia will explain that the Dark Force power is growing stronger after we conquered Angor Wat. This gives us access to a new form, Shadow.

Shadow is supposed to be the ultimate warrior, but I still think Freedan is stronger. However, Gaia will now give you an item that only Shadow can used called 'Aura'. This allows Shadow to become liquid and sink through the floor. The pyramid is mostly underground, so you'll need to use this in order to proceed.

You can take a peek at what's at the top of the stairs, if you'd like. The room there is where you'll need to bring the six Hieroglyph Stones you'll find below. If you walk to the right-end of this area you'll simply hit an exit and leave. Stand right before the exit, where you see the brick pattern on the ground. As Shadow, use the Aura to sink to an area below with a treasure chest. Open it to find Red Jewel #45.

Go back to the center of the room and stand at the bottom of the stairs. As Shadow, use the Aura to sink down. In this area, there are six doors and each one contains a Hieroglyph Stone. There is also a Dark Space portal here, which allows you to transform into whatever form you wish.

Here is the order of doors and the forms I use:

(As Shadow)
2nd door from the left - (Red Jewel #46)
3rd door from the left
5th door from the left - (Red Jewel #47)

(As Will)
3rd door from the left - Return to this area again as Will in order to use his Psycho Spin on the ramp here. On the other side is treasure chest with Red Jewel #48.
1st door from the left
4th door from the left - (Red Jewel #49)

(As Shadow)
6th door from the left

At this point in the game, your inventory should be pretty full. So each time you get a Hieroglyph Stone, you'll most likely have to go and place it before you have room for anything else. Same for Red Jewels, send them away!

When you've collected the six and head back to the room to hang it, you'll run into the infamous Jackal that has been pursuing you the whole game. The room has a booby trap that is activated by sound, so you'll be told to play your flute (using Lola's Melody).

Jackal is then very violently burned alive, making his arc rather pointless lol. You can now place the sixth hieroglyph. If it wasn't obvious, the room where you got each stone is also its position. So first room gets you the hieroglyph stone that goes in the first slot, etc.

A warp tile will open up right outside the room. Make sure to heal and change forms if you want to. If you use the warp tile, you'll be taken to go fight the Mummy Queen.

BOSS FIGHT - MUMMY QUEEN

Mummy Queen's not so tough. She floats around blasting energy balls and causing stones to fall from the pyramid. If you hit her, she will burst into a bunch of ghosts. Eventually the ghosts reform and the cycle repeats. Just keep at it and you'll beat her, eventually.

After the fight, you gain the fifth Mystic Statue. Your father contacts you again and tells you to go to the Tower of Babel. Luckily Neil can take you. You'll automatically go back to Dao. Speak to Neil only when you're ready, as you'll automatically head to Babel.

But for now, it's time to take a break. We're almost done here!
