Last time, we went full Egyptian and toured Dao, a city located in the desert. We also trekked through the Great Pyramid, where we scored ourselves the fifth Mystic Statue. Additionally, we have 49 out of 50 Red Jewels. There's not much left for us to do here.

Will's dad's voice calls out to us and tells us to take the Mystic Statues to the Tower of Babel. Kara tells us that Neil has come to Dao and has a new airplane. It's all coming together...

CHAPTER 15 - TOWER OF BABEL

This place is pretty short and contains no normal monsters, but it can still be a tough climb. As you're walking through, Will will pause and comment that this is where he got his flute. Right next to where Will stopped to mention this is a box. Go up and check it to find Red Jewel #50! We're done! We finally got all 50 Red Jewels!

Anyway, you're going to have to fight powered-up versions of the five previous bosses you've encountered: Castoth, Viper, Vampires, Sand Fanger and the Mummy Queen.

The challenge comes from the fact that there is only one Dark Space portal, where you can heal, which is located after the first boss. You can also go back and use the Dark Space portal again after the second boss, but you won't be able to access it again after that.

After the Mummy Queen, you'll find another Dark Space portal. Heal up and Gaia will mention that Shadow can now use the Firebird attack. Outside, speak with the spirit. You'll be given a chance to go back to Dao Village.

If you want to do the special Jeweler's Mansion side quest, you'll need to return to Dao and speak with the Gem Jeweler. But for now, we're going to proceed and fight the final bosses.

BOSS FIGHT - CHAOS COMET

This is the warm-up act and it's painfully easy. Stand next to the comet's mouth and shoot Shadow's Firebird when its mouth opens. Some energy blasts will rain down on you, but they should be pretty easy to dodge. Repeat until it's dead.

BOSS FIGHT - DARK GAIA

This is the true boss, a dark version of the motherly Gaia, who has guided us throughout this whole game. It might seem like there's a lot going on here, but it's easy to make sense of everything.

There's basically three different types of attacks to look out for. First are the water bubbles flying all you from all over. This is the weakest of its attacks and the easiest to deal with. Simply shoot a Firebird in its direction to burst its bubble. They're also fairly easy to dodge if you need to.

Secondly, Dark Gaia has what are presumably arms, or at least limbs on each side. About every five seconds or so, it will generate two energy bubble blasts that are hard to dodge. For these, you'll want to use L & R to block the attack. This attack is slightly stronger than the water bubbles.

Third, right after Dark Gaia's head is briefly vulnerable, it will shoot a triangular-shaped energy beam down at you. This happens roughly 4 or 5 times after it uses its second attack, so possibly 20-30 seconds.

You'll need to dodge this by simply getting out of the way in time. This is by far its strongest attack, so you'll definitely want to dodge it.

Now that we know its attacks, you'll want to get into position to attack it after you see it use its second attack about 4 times. You'll want to be directly below its head. It will open its mouth when it's vulnerable. Get in a few blasts, then move out of the way.

Repeat the cycle until Dark Gaia dies. It shouldn't really take that long.

Enjoy the ending! As you can probably guess, it's a weird one. But at least, it's a happy one. The world has been transformed and now Will and his friends can live normal lives.

THE END

Join us next time for Illusion of Gaia's special side quest, the 'Jeweler's Mansion'. I wonder if we actually get anything for completing it?
