I'm taking a break! - Indie Devlog - Aboleo: Shadow of the Crown - Medieval RPG

Hello everyone and welcome to the devlog 4 for my game Aboleo: Shadow of the Crown. Today I'm bringing some sad news - I'm taking a break. The good news is that the break is rather short and it comes with a good reason. I'm taking a month break from every project that I'm working on (and that includes this one) because november came, and with it - my midterm exams on college. Sadly I simply do not have time to do both and sadly, I need education for my future job. Trust me if I could, I would make this my main job because of how much I love doing it - but reality check is that not a lot of indie games make big and It's a huge gamble which I'm not willing to take on, so yeah college comes first. After the exams pass I will be back working on a project stronger than ever.
It's not like I didn't do anything though, I've been working hard since the last devlog to bring my (and your) ideas to life. The most important thing that I worked on is multi slot saving. Now, you can have 3 slots to save your game and continue playing from anywhere or on any machine because I integrated Steam Cloud to the game! Yay! The part of the Steam Cloud that was kind of hard to save was the Unity's player prefs because it's not saved on a physical directory so I used a File-Based Player Prefs. I made a whole video about it so be sure to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taEeQxogQ-g it's a very good video if you're struggling or wondering how to save PlayerPrefs and integrate it into the Steam Cloud or any Cloud saving system that you might encounter.
I did much more with the map of the game - added new zones, new enemies and my personal favorite - I added a main boss Faelindra that you will encounter if you choose a good side of the story! So yeah you will be able to have different story lines based on choices you make throughout the game to make your story feel unique.
One more thing that I added that excites me is Steam Achievements! Currently there are 40 Steam Achievements that you will get throughout the game and approximately 8 hours of content. At the game's release I'm planning it to have around 170 achievements of varioius kinds. I like to hide achievements in various places so if you get one when you don't expect it - you'll know you did something cool and special! It wont just be kill 100 of that, collect 100 of that because that would be really boring - buuut, there will be that kind too so there is everything for everyone.
Anyways, thank you so much for watching this video and I hope you'll understand the reason why I'm taking this short break . If you have any questions be sure to ask away in the comments down below and I will answer your for sure! If you like what you're seeing with this game, be sure to wishlist it on Steam. That would really mean a lot to me and it would make my day - so if you want to make my day, just do it! Also don't forget to like this video which will let me know that you enjoyed it and also make me smile and subscribe to the channel so you don't forget about my future uploads and updates about this game - Aboleo: Shadow of the Crown . With all that said, I want you to have an amazing rest of the day, and I'll see you in the next video!
