We have discovered our first parents, Adam and Eve, in our genetics. All mitochondrial DNA worldwide can be traced back to a single female common ancestor in the not so distant past. All male Y chromosomes are nearly identical. And this uni-parentally inherited DNA compartment (passed down on the father's side) can be traced back to a single male ancestor in the not so distant past. This is Y chromosome Noah. DNA variation in both compartments (mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosome) have very little variation. The mutations rates are fast. In the mitochondrial DNA, the mutation rate is roughly 0.5 per generation. And in the Y chromosome, the rate is approximately 1-3 per generation. This is Biblical time.
Low variation combined with a fast mutation rate is easy to explain under a Biblical creation model. But these realities are extremely difficult to explain from an evolutionary starting point. There are too few DNA differences in the mitochondrial DNA and the Y chromosome for deep-time evolution to be true. There should be more variation. But the amount of variation we see is perfectly in line with the Biblical creation model. We have evidence for a single female ancestor and a single male ancestor that all people have descended from. This is exactly what the origins account in Genesis would expect.
