British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stepped down as Conservative leader. Johnson however intends to carry on as prime minister till a new leader is appointed. Till yesterday, the British prime minister was adamant that he will not go despite dozens of resignations from his government. The events were set into motion when chancellor Rishi Sunak resigned citing lack of trust in his leadership. After that, dozens of ministers and officials started resigning from the government.
