So, after helping a cricketer get his ball back (even though he was on the batting team but, we’ll just look over that), we get to one of the most infuriating missions within this entire game. There have been a few which left me scratching my head, saying “yeah, but like, what was the point of all that?” but this one is probably the worst one of all. We meet these two droids that need to send a message to a mister Toby van Adobe and that its content is sent by a princess (sounds familiar?). Essentially, this mission boils down to being an escort mission where we save them from about two waves of enemies before they deliver the worst pun possible (I don’t want to spoil it in the description because you probably wouldn’t even believe me). My issue with this mission isn’t that the pun is bad, albeit that is part of it; the reason I dislike this mission is because it is actually a waste of time. After meeting with the great Toby Van, the robots immediately tell you that the item they were looking for has already been found since they left their ship and that the entire mission was a waste of time (the game literally tells you this to your face and doesn’t even hide it). This isn’t the only mission that made me feel like I wasted my time, there is a line of mission earlier on in the game where Janey asks you to test several iterations of a laser weapon she is working on. For the most part, I thought this was a way to introduce the player to the new weapon type, that being frost, and how fire worked with Zero Gravity; It seemed similar to a mission from Borderlands 2 where Marcus teaches you all the elemental weapon types. This series of mission ended when Torgue tells you that he doesn’t like Laser because they don’t explode and therefore wants to get rid of all of them so it makes sense for him to ask you to destroy it since it fits his character. That being said though, from a game perspective, making the player go through a couple of very repetitive missions (go there and kill X number of people) to get them acquainted with these new additions to game then just destroy the weapon is annoying to say the least since it feels like all our work went to waste (I didn’t mind the Marcus mission since it was contained within a single room, they handed you the weapon type and it all went by relatively quickly; I didn’t need to run around through several maps to complete it). If I’m being honest, there are a couple of missions like this (including the robot escort mission in this video) that just feels like Fluff, trivial missions that are just a waste of time. I think I might’ve excused him a little if the joke at the end of the rainbow was funny but, let’s face it, this was a terrible pun and when I, the least funniest person on this planet, think a joke like this is awful, you done goofed it up.
