So, after our little defense of the Prison, we then went to reactivate another conduit in yet another sewer. From this mission, we get access to a sort of shield that seems to deflect bullets (not sure about rockets or if I’m willing to test against rockets) and can be used as cover. My issue with this power is that it feels really uncomfortable to use; You have to hold down the R2 button to maintain the shield and, while you are using the shield, you can’t fire or climb. I don’t know why but, I always feel kind of uncomfortable using this power while running around the city and I usually bork up in actually using it. I think the shield is based off of where your camera is looking and isn’t a static object/aura around you which means you have to be staring at your enemy while the mercilessly shoot at you. If you turn to make sure you’re jumping in the right direction means that the shield moves to so trying to move around the world while only facing one particular way is rather hard. I’m hoping that I’ll adjust to it but, at this point in the game, I might not even need to worry all too much about using it. I think this is the second last conduit that needed to be reestablished which means we are heading very close towards the end of the game. I’ve gotten so use to just jumping around like a moron that I don’t think the shield will help me all too much. I would’ve liked it sooner within the game since it seems very important to fight with so it is a little odd that they would only just be giving it to use now. Regardless of our newfound power, we head out to couple of side missions (Another Terror bus mission and a small race) before completing the starting the next main mission. For the first time within the game, we finally get to talk with John (the guy who left the dead drops laying around) who wants to meet with us alone. I won’t spoil too much about this mission itself because it gets very interesting, as the title might hint at.
