And some more Final Doomer+ map packs. This time I begin to take a look at Whitemare. Created by Russian mappers, most made during speedmapping contests with a winter theme. So there isn't really a campaign to speak of, more a collection of individual maps lined together. And that's fine, it's a showcase of what's available. Some of the maps stumble here and there, but if they're made in a hurry that's understandable. There isn't a huge amount of attention to detail, a lot of blocky sections, but there ARE areas where some real care was paid and it shows. There's a few smaller ones which I enjoyed.

One map in particular was simultaneously a high point, and a low point. A high point as it showed off some tech I hadn't seen before with a creative theme of a Baron of Hell stealing the blue key and running away with it. At least, as well as the Doom engine can handle. It also showed some faked level on level that I've not seen before. Great stuff. Sadly, it hides progression switches so that they're hard to see, or hard to figure out, and has a bizarre little platforming section. Those bring the map down. A lot of little things bring the various maps down, but it's still a mostly enjoyable experience. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
