This video covers a clean installation of Windows 11 on a new Dell XPS 9305 equipped with an 11th Generation Intel Processor and hooked up to a WD19TB Thunderbolt dock. This video discusses the newer technologies in a modern Dell UEFI BIOS Setup that are required for Windows 11 compatibility such as TPM 2.0 Security.

Windows 11 has substantially elevated system requirements over older versions of Windows and Microsoft only recommend installing it on newer systems equipped with an 8th Generation Intel Processor or newer.

In this video I cover the use of the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool to make a Windows 11 UEFI Bootable USB. Windows 11 is 64 Bit only and only supports installation on systems with a modern UEFI BIOS and Secure Boot.

The written version of this guide is available here:
https://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/windows-11

This means the procedure is simplified as legacy systems do not need to be considered:

I go through the Dell UEFI BIOS setup, highlighting the recommended settings for Windows 11 and demonstrate how to update the BIOS to the latest version via the UEFI BIOS Boot Menu.

The recommended SATA Operation to use for an 11th Generation Intel Processor is RAID. This allows for Intel Volume Management Device, a scalable processor feature that enables direct control and management of NVMe SSDs increasing system performance. Unfortunately Windows 11 doesn't natively contain the Intel Rapid Storage Technology or "F6" drivers. I discuss preparing and loading these drivers. The AHCI SATA operation will allow the NVMe SSD to be seen by Windows 11 installation media but will result in reduced performance. (F6 is a reference from Windows XP, as F6 had to be pressed during the Windows XP setup screens to load storage controllers. We do not use F6 with Windows 11).

This video also covers the use of Dell Data Wipe to securely wipe the internal NVMe SSD via the UEFI BIOS setup.

The video also covers the clean installation of Windows 11 from the Windows 11 Bootable USB. I cover installation with a Microsoft Account and include instructions on making a Local Account instead (A Windows 11 Pro feature only). This video also covers optional OneDrive integration with a Microsoft Account. OneDrive integration is only useful with an Office 365 subscription as it gives 1 TB storage.

This video also covers the use Windows Update and Dell Update to update all the system drivers for this model.

The latest UEFI BIOS Update, Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver and Dell Update available from Dell are listed on the Dell Drivers and Downloads Page:

Intel Rapid Storage Technology Drivers are also available direct from Intel for 10th and 11th Generation Intel Processors or 8th and 9th Generation Intel Processors respectively:

Additional applications and utilities such as Intel Thunderbolt Controller applications and System Management Applications such as Dell Power Manager can be downloaded and installed from Dell Drivers and Downloads.
