How To Save Apple Notes as Markdown In iOS 26:
Step 1: Launch the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 26. Tap to open the specific note you’d like to export in Markdown format.
Step 2: At the top-right corner of the screen, tap the Share icon (a square with an arrow pointing upward).
Step 3: In the share sheet, look for the "Export as Markdown" option. Tap it.
If you don’t see this option, ensure your iOS is updated to version 26 and that the note doesn’t include unsupported content like scanned documents or rich attachments.
Markdown is a lightweight markup language used for formatting text. It’s popular among writers, developers, and web creators because it's easy to read and converts cleanly to HTML. Apple now supports this format natively in iOS 26’s Notes app.
Step 4: Once exported, you’ll be given a choice to Save to Files, Send via AirDrop, Mail, or Messages, open in a third-party Markdown editor or cloud app or even Copy.
Choose the option that best fits your workflow.
