Is Black Rifle Coffee really any good?
This last year or so Black Rifle Coffee really took off, thanks to the power of the internet, and endorsements by big conservative YouTubers like Steven Crowder. At least it feels like it blew up to me, maybe it was huge before this year, I really don’t know. The question I’m asking myself, however, is "is Black Rifle really any good?" Or is it just an attempt to use clever right-wing oriented marketing to sell less than great coffee.
I’ve been to Black Rifle’s first store front in Boerne, Texas about 4 or 5 times now and, I have to admit, I haven’t really liked it that much. At all. But then I went ahead and bought a pound of coffee. Perhaps that will fair better? After all, roasting coffee is what Black Rifle is really known for. That and lots of slightly cringe selfies with guns.
So is Black Rifle more than just yet another case of butt kissing philanthropic capitalism? Or is it also secretly awesome?
Let’s find out together.
Also, I’d like to send a 90s style SHOT OUT to Nokeric, a very talented and very underrated YouTuber from whom I used a couple of images. The image of the guy wearing a Minecraft t-shirt under camouflage is from a viral video he made about “stolen valor”. The image of the clown faced McDonalds working fall down is from a video wherein he dramatized his act of quitting his job at McDonalds. Very funny, and very creative stuff.
